5 Day Reef, Rainforest & Outback - Tour FNQ2
A 5 day, 4 night fully accommodated guided trip around the Wet Tropics World Heritage area covering reef, rainforest & outback visiting 9 of the 11 local wildlife habitat types.
Led by a Naturalist Guide with a wildlife focus but suitable for all interest levels. Even without a specific interest in wildlife this is an outstanding trip - 9 of the 11 local habitat types are visited offering great scenic variety & for those wildlife orientated a typical score of 150-200 bird species as well as a good selection of local mammals & reptiles.
Day 1 - Snorkel the Gt Barrier Reef with scenic helicopter flight return (both Quicksilver), overnight in Daintree region taking a Guided night river cruiseDay 2 - Traverse the infamous 4WD Bloomfield track through fabulous rainforest to Cooktown, overnight Springvale Lodge (homestead or local pub meal)
Day 3 - Cattle station activities (Axio's Be a Bushy with Bud) in the morning with Laura Rock Art in the afternoon, overnight at the Lodge (outstation option)
Day 4 - Journey south the arid inland route to the lush Atherton Tablelands to end the day with some nocturnal spotting, overnight in rainforest cottages
Day 5 - Day wildlife spotting returning to Cairns late afternoon.
Included - transfers, 4WD with Naturalist Guide/driver, entrance fees, Gov. permit fees, morning & afternoon teas, 9 meals, 4 nights accommodation including continental breakfast (twin share basis) & spotting lists (some luggage restrictions apply).
